Tower of Babel

Now that I've finished my novel The Rosary Bracelet, I'm thinking of starting a new novel Tower Of Babel. This is actually an old idea I've had since 1999. I just get stuck every time I work on it. It could be a prequel to The Rosary Bracelet, although I don't think that novel left much room for a prequel. Tower Of Babel would require a whole new set of characters.

Tower of Babel will be about man's envy of God and lust to become God through science and technology. I will make it no secret why I write so much about the Lord and how I don't exactly put science and technology in a good light. A long time ago when I was a boy I thought to myself, "If I could learn all the laws of science, then I could become God." My thought smacked of the serpent in the Garden of Eden, and I cast it out immediately.

Most of all, people used science and technology to persecute me. If you read Shield of Faith long enough, you'll see the spiritual experiences I had. People, especially psychiatrists and psychologists, dismissed my supernatural experiences based on the premise that there is no God, just too many neurotransmitters in my brain. "God could not have talked to you because there is no God," was their mantra.

In general, I see people lust for more science and technology because it gives them a feeling of power over the universe. Thus Tower of Babel will show how such an envy of God ultimately is doomed to failure. I'll give a little hint. There exists within physics itself a weakness in science, and if certain technologies are developed based on that weakness, civilization itself will collapse. This is not just fiction. I am researching this weakness in science. Hence the name Tower Of Babel.
